Size Reduction Technology
Hammer Mill
Efficient Substrate Size Reduction
Our twin-rotor hammer mill shreds your substrates through the interaction of two counter-rotating rotor shafts fitted with hammers. The powerful size reduction technology and high throughput of up to 16 tonnes per hour increase the efficiency of your biogas plant through optimal substrate preparation.

Proven Size Reduction Technology
The hammer mill is a key component for substrate preparation. By reducing the size of the input material, its surface area is increased, allowing bacteria to process the nutrients faster and more efficiently. This results in a higher gas yield and a shorter residence time in the fermenter.
Operating Principle
Size reduction is achieved by swinging hammers mounted on two adjacent rotor shafts. These rotate in opposite directions at up to 3,000 revolutions per minute. The resulting centrifugal forces and the flinging of material between the rotors ensure effective size reduction to the desired particle size.
Applications
Our hammer mill is suitable for shredding all common substrates in the biogas sector. It prevents the formation of sedimentation and floating layers and improves substrate mixing in the fermenter. Thanks to its compact design, it can be easily integrated into existing plants and combined directly with liquid feed input.
Installation & Maintenance
The hammer mill impresses with its compact design, which requires very little installation space. This allows for straightforward integration into existing plants and conveyor routes. The well thought-out construction ensures easy access to all relevant components for maintenance work, minimising downtime at your biogas plant.
